The Shoal Creek Bridge on Route C, South of Utica, is closed due to unrepairable deterioration. The Missouri Department of Transportation says that despite repeated repair efforts, a recent inspection found the bridge has deteriorated beyond repair and they have closed the bridge until it can be replaced.
A project to replace the 89-year-old Shoal Creek Bridge has been in the works for some time and is currently in the design and right-of-way acquisition phase. Bids will be let later in the year with construction expected to begin in February of 2023.
