The Friends of the Livingston County Library is kicking off their “One Read” Program. Shelly Turner with the Friends of the Livingston County Library organization says it’s a community-wide reading program. It aims to inspire learning and spirited conversation and is kicking off its sixth year at the Library.
Turner explains the purpose of the program.
The three books are called “The Blood of Emmett Till”, “Midnight Without a Moon” and “The Watsons Go to Birmingham.”
There are also several events associated with the program including a special guest speaker Alvin Sykes on October 23rd and a presentation on the civil rights movement in greater Kansas City on October 28th
