A Chillicothe soccer ball in their own goal helped St Pius beat the Hornets Thursday 2-1 in Chillicothe.
St Pius X was credited a goal in the 15th minute when the soccer ball ended up in Chillicothe’s “own goal.” No further details were provided.
Chillicothe battle back to tie the game later in the first half on a Mason Baxter penalty kick.
In the second half, St Pius scored again in the 50th minute. Chillicothe struggled scoring against the St Pius X defenders, with just one shot on goal and two corner kicks.
Chillicothe Keeper Daniel Hedrick saved six of St Pius’ 7 shots on goal. The Warriors also had four corner kicks.
In the Junior Varsity game, Chillicothe scored goals from Kaleb Mullikan and Trent Norman to beat St Pius 2-0
