The North Missouri FCA Banquet Tuesday night in Chillicothe raised nearly $85,000 to support the FCA programs in North Missouri. Area Director Todd Matthew says the evening included 268 in attendance, from 6 north Missouri Counties. Matthew says since 2001, the organization has grown.
Matthew says they minister to the coaches, who in turn minister to the student athletes.
The evening included guest speaker Darwin Pennye, Director of the Kansas City MLB Urban Youth academy. Pennye says they minister to the youth in the area of 18th and Vine and encourage the young women and men to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Matthew says in 2000, there were five huddles in all of Northwest Missouri, he says in 18 years, that has grown to 56 huddles in 23 counties and they continue to grow.
