Three area residents died on the roadways over the weekend according to the Missouri Highway Patrol..
Sunday at about 8:05 pm, a head-on collision in Randolph County took the lives of two area residents and left a third injured. Thirty-one year old Kayla Cox of Salisbury and her passenger, 47 year old John Birmingham of Bucklin died at the scene of the accident on US 24, near Huntsville. The report states Cox was eastbound and crossed the centerline, running head on into a truck driven by 67 year old David Dunn of Huntsville. Dunn was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. None of the three were wearing safety belts.
Sunday at about 3:05 pm, a single vehicle accident in Sullivan County took the life of the driver, 48 year old Achai Aroub of Milan. The report, Aroub was westbound on Highway 6, when she lost control and went off the road, the car struck a fence and overturned, coming to rest in a field. Aroub was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton and where she later died. She was wearing a safety belt.
