The Chillicothe Lady Hornets exploded for big second and third quarters to beat Staley in the Savannah Tournament Basketball Semi-Finals 51-34.
Chillicothe outscored Staley 37-18 in the combined second and third quarters to turn a close game to a 20 point blow out in the second half.
Coach Darrin Smith said it was a good win over a very physical Staley team.
Jordan Hibner led Chillicothe with 16 points including four treys. Kennedie Kieffer had 13 points, Hunter Keithley with 12, Magy Thomas and Laney Gaston with three each, Catey Trout and Maggie Pfaff each with two. Getting playing time were Essie Hicks, Brooke Horton and Maya Snyder.
With the win, Chillicothe is now 3-0 and faces William Chrisman in the Tournament Finals. The Chrisman Bears beat Smithville 43-34. The Championship game is Saturday at 7:00pm and can be heard live on KCHI Radio and online at KCHI.com
