Livingston County Sheriff’s Report

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for the latter half of March includes numerous incidents and arrests.

Incident Reports:

March 15th, deputies responded to the railroad in the area of LIV 506 and LIV 503 on a report of a dog tied to the tracks.  Deputies were able to free the animal but were unable to capture it. No suspects are known at this time.

March 21st, deputies responded to the area of Southbound Washington Street from Missouri Highway 190 for a domestic disturbance in a traveling vehicle.  The vehicle stopped on Washington near Simpson Park and a woman was arrested for domestic assault.

March 21st, Deputies took a walk-in report from a Chula resident for alleged harassment.  An individual sent multiple harassing text message to the reporting party.  The suspect was contacted.

March 21st, deputies responded to the 2000 block of LIV 516 for a domestic disturbance.  A physical altercation took place between two parties and formal charges are being sought.

March 25th, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US 36 near LIV 261 that was traveling 81 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.  The investigation led to the seizure of marijuana and a firearm possessed by the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old David Jones of Park Hill.  Jones was issued a citation for the speed and formal charges are being sought on unlawful possession of a firearm.

 Additional arrests include:

March 21st, 46-year-old Clinton Lewis of Chillicothe was arrested at the Sheriff’s office, on a Livingston County warrant.  Lewis was unable to post $25,000 cash bond and was taken to Caldwell County Detention Center.

March 23rd, 37-year-old Joshua Caudill of Wheeling was arrested in the 400 block of Market Street in Wheeling on a Livingston County warrant.  Caudill was unable to post $20,000 cash bond and was taken to Caldwell County Detention Center.

March 25th, 35-year-old Johnathan Carter of Pevely was arrested on US 36 near LIV 255 for driving while suspended-first offense.  He was processed and released.

March 29th, 28-year-old George Brumbaugh of St. Joseph was arrested on Route Z near LIV 416 after leading deputies on a pursuit from US 36 near LIV 255.  Suspected Methamphetamine paraphernalia was also seized from Brumbaugh who was transported to Caldwell County Detention Center pending formal charges.
