Chillicothe Police Report

Chillicothe police officers responded to 96 calls for service, including animal issues, noise complaints, and parking problems.

12:30 PM, Officers assisted with an investigation from a jurisdiction in New York, where they had received multiple school threats in the last few days through the Veteran’s suicide hotlines. The report states that in each instance, the text information is sent to a third-party suicide hotline, and then that hotline calls 911 to relay the information.  The latest incident referenced a caller with a name and address that may be in Chillicothe. The investigation determined this was an attempt at a swatting call.  This is the second time the Chillicothe Police Department has dealt with this type of swatting issue at the same address.  The resident was advised and is attempting to talk with their internet provider.  The report states this did not happen in Chillicothe, MO.

1:51 PM, Officers assisted the High School Resource Officer with a juvenile arrest.

3:00 PM, Officers took a report of fraud in the 400 block of Webster Street.  The suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

3:08 PM, Officers were on patrol when they noticed a disturbance at a business in the 200 block of Washington Street.  Officers de-escalated the situation, and the parties were separated.

8:30 PM, Officers responded to a theft of a game system. Information has been collected and the investigation is ongoing.
