Two Serious Injury Crashes – One Arrested

Two Serious Injury Crashes were investigated by State Troopers.  One driver was arrested

A 12-year-old Carrollton girl was flown to Truman Medical Center after the UTV she was driving struck a large truck Monday evening.  State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 7:10 pm at County Roads 210 and 261.  According to the report, the girl was northbound and struck the side of the truck driven by 42-year-old Curtis Swearingin of Carrollton.

State Troopers arrested Swearingin for alleged DWI resulting in a serious injury crash.  He was processed and released.

 

(Revised) A Jackson County crash left a Warrensburg woman with serious injuries Monday afternoon.  State Troopers report 56-year-old Anita Church of Warrensburg was flown to Research Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  The crash occurred as a truck driven by 57-year-old Gene D. Hibner of Chillicothe was northbound on Highway F.  A car driven by Church was southbound and failed to negotiate a curve.  She crossed the centerline and the driver’s side of the car struck the driver’s side of the truck.  Hibner was not injured.  Both drivers were wearing safety belts.
