Lady Hornets Use Big Fourth Inning To Fly Past South Harrison

It was Senior Night for the Chillicothe Lady Hornets softball team at Danner Park on Tuesday night. Chillicothe welcomed in a talented South Harrison squad and the game lived up to the expectations early. Each team scored a run in the 2nd, Charley Peniston scored Kenzie Fleener for Chillicothe. Then in the 3rd, both sides managed two more runs to make it 3-3. Tori Stoner hit in a run and scored one herself in the frame as Chillicothe and South Harrison were all square going into the 4th inning. That is where the Lady Hornets caught fire, as Peniston and Hope Donoho led off with hits that resulted in a monstrous seven run inning for Chillicothe. The Lady Hornets went ahead 10-3 and kept South Harrison at bay the rest of the way. Landry Marsh had another great game in the circle with 13 strikeouts while allowing just 4 hits.

Chillicothe is now 18-5 this season with just two games remaining before the district tournament begins next Wednesday.
