Ground Breaking Marks Beginning Of Police Department Construction

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Chillicothe Police Station was attended by Chillicothe City officials, members of the Chillicothe Police Department, and representatives of the architect and contractor.  Chillicothe Mayor Theresa Kelly says it is so exciting to reach this point.

Working on the project for several years.

City Administrator Roze Frampton says work on the project will begin immediately.

As early as today with equipment arriving on site.

Police Chief John Maples says this began as looking for ways to improve the current facility.

A game changer including enhanced security.

He says improved facilities will have an effect on the current officers and employees and will make a difference when working to recruit officers and dispatchers to the department.
