Municipal Election – Carroll County Ballot Questions

The April 8th Municipal Election in Carroll County will include several contested races for school boards, city and town councils and elected offices, 911 District, and  township boards and positions.

Norborne will have a tax levy question, requesting an increase of 30 cents per $100 valuation for general municipal purposes, specific street construction, maintenance, and improvement for a four year period.

All 17 townships are requesting an additional 35 cents per $100 valuation four four years.  This is a special road tax and a continuation of the current road tax in those townships.

Norborne School District voters will consider Proposition Pirates to borrow $1.5 million without an estimated increase in the current debt service property tax levy.  The money would be for remodel of the kitchen/cafeteria, preschool playground, and softball bleachers, safety improvements, and improvements to existing facilities of the district as funds would allow.  If approved, the Debt service levy would be unchanged at 53 cents per $100 valuation
