Municipal Election – Daviess County Ballot Questions

Daviess County voters will have several ballot issues to consider in the April 8th Municipal election.  They include

Daviess/Dekalb Regional Jail Sales Tax Question that asks Shall the regional jail district impose a sales tax of ½ of 1% to support the jail providing jail service and maintenance and upkeep of the facility and equipment?

The City of Coffey is asking voters,  Shall there be a city sales tax of 1% in the City of Coffey?

They also ask,  Shall the City of Coffey impose a local use tax at the same rate as the city’s sales tax?

Shall the City of Jamesport issue combined waterworks and sewage system revenue bonds, not to exceed $2.5 million to acquire, construct, renovate, improve and equip its combined waterworks and sewage systems, to be paid soley by the revenues derived by the operation of the system?

The village of Altamont asks Shall there be a city sales tax of 1% in the village of Altamont?

There are several road tax levy questions.

Daviess County Special Road District seeks a levy of 35 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.

 

Jamesport  Special Road District seeks a levy of 25 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.

 

Lock Springs  Special Road District seeks a levy of 35 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.

Several townships are asking voters to continue a tax levy of 35 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.  They include: Grand River, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln, Marion, Monroe, Salem, Sheridan, and Washington Townships.

Colfax Township is asking to continue a tax levy of 25 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.

Benton Township is seeking approval of an additional tax levy of 35 cents per $100 assessed valuation for a period of four years.
