NCMRWC Partners With Warren Center for Archeological Research

The North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission is partnering with the Warren Center for Archeological Research at Missouri State University to meet their Cultural Resources Obligations during the construction of the Roy Blunt Reservoir near Milan.

The Warren Center will oversee and/or execute Data Recovery on pre-identified sites, as well as provide recommendations for preservation, curation, and public interpretation.  They will provide training to construction crews in case artifacts or sites are turned up during excavation and construction and will provide both on-call services, as well as full-time presence during portions of construction.

Greg Pitchford, with Allstate Consultants, says he is anxious to work with them on meeting the Cultural Resources obligations.  Pitchford says “The people of Sullivan County are committed to preserving their heritage and this is a great opportunity to do that.”
