Betty Chloe Bowling

Betty Chloe Bowling passed away on October 10th, 2025 in Chillicothe, MO at the age of 97. Betty was born in Beatrice, NE on August 3rd, 1928. Her parents, Rollie and Minnie Helm later moved to the Hale area where Betty attended and graduated from Hale High School. During this time, she met Sam Bowling and fell in love. They were married on June 2nd, 1947 after Sam was discharged from the Marines the prior year. They had three children, Connie Jo, Cleta B, and Kevin Ray.

Betty worked with her husband on a dairy farm for many years and later went into the restaurant business in Hale called, “The Place”. She was great with kids and thus worked a job at Hedrick Medical Center taking care of newborns. Even to her final breath, nothing cheered her up more than a child’s smiling face. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as working in her flower garden and caring for her pets.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. Her husband Sam, two daughters, Connie and Cleta as well as her son, Kevin.

She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and her son-in-law, Terry Singleton.

A memorial service for Betty Chloe Bowling will be held on November 8th, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Home starting at 11am. Burial will take place at Hale Cemetery in Hale, MO.
