Jerry Wayne Maloney, Sr., age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at Livingston Manor, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Jerry was born the son of Forestt Wayne and Eula Mae (Ball) Maloney on Tuesday, June 1st, 1943, in Macon, Georgia. He was a 1961 graduate of Onaga High School in Onaga, Kansas. On April 20, 1963 he was united in marriage to Roberta June Skelton in Onaga, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Jerry worked for Hudson Odom Tire until 1982. In 1984 Jerry started the first complete lawn service company, in Chillicothe, Maloneys Lawn Service. Which he operated for the next forty-one years. Jerry’s first customer was Ann Vinson with the Chillicothe Garden Club. His commitment to quality and customer satisfaction made him a respected figure in the Chillicothe community. He was a Boy Scout when he lived in Eureka, Kansas. Jerry exemplified the values of integrity, service, and leadership throughout his life, he loved to work and he especially loved to work outside. He enjoyed classic cars, was a family man, enjoyed camping and he loved barbeque. He especially enjoyed taking care of any stray cat that showed up at the house.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta June Maloney of Chillicothe, MO; his son, Jerry Maloney Jr., and wife Janet of Hamilton, Missouri; and his daughter, Wendy Maloney and husband Toby Calivere of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a proud grandfather to Kaci Howard (BJ), Lacy Gomez (Victor), Andrew Harrison (Ashley), Patrick Harrison (Camie), Corey Maloney (Jadan Heitman), Michael Maloney (Ashley), Jessica Harrison, Shannon Calivere and Billy Calivere; eight great-children; Lucas, Mia, Bryson, Kailey, Kamden. Ronan, Thea and Aqua. Jerry is also survived by two brothers, Michael Ludwick (Mary) and Mark Ludwick (Laura), two sisters, Candy Schlegel (Jack) and Jamie Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forestt W. Maloney and Mildred Maloney, Eula Mae Ludwick and Clarence Ludwick, two brothers, Jeff Ludwick and Ray Blevins.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at The House of Prayer, Chillicothe, Missouri. “If I can’t go like I am, I ain’t going,” was one of Jerry’s favorite sayings, so no formal attire is necessary, work clothes are preferred. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at The House of Prayer at 10:00 am, one hour prior to services. Memorial Contributions may be made to Forrest O.
