Larry Raymond Reeter, a cherished resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born the son of Ollie Raymond and Iva Marie (Akers) Reeter on February 25, 1941, in Livingston County, Missouri. Larry lived a life dedicated to family, faith, and community service.
A proud graduate of Chillicothe High School, Larry went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Meneely on September 30, 1962, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. After Larry’s military service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a Lead Lineman with Farmers Electric Cooperative in Chillicothe, where he dedicated 43 years before retiring in 2004. Larry’s commitment to his community extended beyond his professional life. For over 40 years, he served as an Associate Pastor, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at Calvary Baptist Church, touching countless lives with his kindness and wisdom. He also ministered at Ludlow Baptist Church for 11 years and was known for his compassionate visits to the homebound and those in hospitals and nursing homes. Additionally, Larry contributed to the Chillicothe School District as a bus driver for 11 years, ensuring the safety and well-being of many young students.
Survivors include his devoted wife Patricia; his daughter, Connie Martin of Chillicothe, Missouri, and his son, Eric Reeter (Jennifer) of Chillicothe. Larry’s legacy continues through his three grandchildren: Jonathan Martin (Kristina) of Kansas City, Missouri; Kylee McIntiyre (Derick) of Chillicothe, Missouri; and Colton Reeter (Lacey) of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a proud great-grandfather to Eli Reeter, Hudson Reeter, and Duke McIntyre. Larry also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ollie Raymond and Iva Marie Reeter, as well as his sister, Lola McNally, and brother, Leland Reeter.
Larry’s life was a testament to the power of faith, service, and family. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
