Penny Sue Patterson, age 55, of Chillicothe, MO passed away on March 21, 2025 at her residence.
Penny was born in Chillicothe to loving parents, Leon Nolan Merrill Sr., and Cheryl Ruth Roney on May 25, 1969. She later married Tracy Patterson in August, 1992 and lived a happy life together. After Tracy’s passing in November 21, 2003 Penny turned her full focus on raising their family and making sure that they were taken care of.
Penny worked as a door greeter and maintenance staff for Chillicothe’s Wal-Mart for many years. She also helped babysit children for several families and enjoyed helping them grow. Some of her favorite pass times were, going on walks, listening, to music and playing games with her family. Penny’s family was her greatest joy and she loved each member to the fullest.
Penny is survived by her two sons, Jonathan Patterson of Farmington, MO and Zach Merrill of Chillicothe, MO. Her daughter, Meagan Patterson of Ludlow; four grandchildren, Zaiden Merrill, Remington Merrill, Fisher Merrill, and Landen Burns. She is also survived by her brother, Leon Nolan Merrill Jr. of Cameron, MO.
Penny is preceded by her husband, Tracy Patterson, her parents Leon and Cheryl and her grandparents.
A visitation service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, MO on March 31, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm.
A funeral service will take place the next day at Heritage Funeral Home on April 1st, 2025 at 10am.
Burial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
