Motorists in Grundy County should prepare for a road closure as the Missouri Department of Transportation begins work on a bridge replacement project east of Laredo.
MoDOT is replacing the bridge deck on the Route E Medicine Creek Drainage Ditch Bridge. The bridge is scheduled to close beginning Monday, June 22, and is expected to remain closed through September 2026.
During the closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route around the work zone.
The Route E project is one of three bridge improvements included in the contract. In Linn County, work on the Route U bridge over Long Branch has already been completed. Meanwhile, the Route B Parsons Creek Bridge remains closed and is expected to stay closed through June while replacement work continues.
