Infant and Woman Have Serious Injuries In Crash

A crash involving an SUV and a semi left a 23-year-old Unionville woman and an infant from Bucklin with serious injuries Monday morning.  State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 11:45 am on US 36 near Bucklin, when the Semi, driven by a 43-year-old Iowa man, was westbound, and the SUV was southbound.  According to the report, the woman failed to yield at the stop sign and was struck on the driver’s side by the semi.

The infant was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.  The woman as flown to University Hospital in Columbia.  They were both wearing safety devices.
