The Livingston County Ambulance District has placed a 3/8 of 1% sales tax on the Livingston County August Primary ballot to support the operation of the Ambulance District. Board member Eva Danner Horton explains why they are considering a change in how the district is funded.
Danner Horton clarified how this will help the district.
She says the ballot does not eliminate the property tax.
She says if the sales tax is approved by voters, the tax would start to be collected in January, but could be April or May before they see the regular tax receipts.
