Stephenson Murder Case Moved To Linn County

An Iowa man facing alleged 2nd Degree Murder Charges in Sullivan County has had his case moved on a change of venue.

Thirty-five-year-old Shane M. Stephenson of Osceola, IA faces charges in the death of a child who was two years old when the child was in his care in October of 2017.

In 2024, the child died, and the autopsy indicated the cause of death was due to a seizure resulting from non-accidental head injury, the direct result of the injuries in 2017.

Monday, Judge William Devoy approved a change of venue, moving the case to Linn County.  Judge Devoy will continue to preside over the case.  A disposition hearing is scheduled for March 26th at 9:30 am.
