A two-vehicle crash in Macon County left two with serious injuries Sunday afternoon. State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 2:15 pm on US 36, 4 miles west of New Cambria, as an 86-year-old Marceline man was northbound and failed to yield, pulling into the path of a 49-year-old Pittsburg, PA woman, who was eastbound on US 36. The Marceline vehicle was struck on the side.
The Pittsburg woman and a passenger in the Marceline vehicle, an 83-year-old woman from Marceline, had serious injuries and were both flown to University Hospital in Columbia. The Marceline driver had moderate injuries and was also taken to University Hospital.
