A single-vehicle crash in Caldwell County early Saturday morning left the driver with moderate injuries and under arrest. State Troopers report 20-year-old Luke B. Carr of Polo had moderate injuries in the crash that happened about 2:25 am on Route B near Cowgill. According to the report, Carr was northbound when he crossed the center line and went off the west side of the road. He struck an embankment, crossed the road and went through a fence before he struck a tree, coming to rest in a creekbed. He was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment. He was not wearing a safety belt.
Toppers also arrested Carr for alleged DWI and minor in possession of alcohol. He was released for treatment.
