Unemployment numbers for August are down across all of the local counties. The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development released the most recent unemployment figures.
Looking at the area counties, from lowest to highest…
Livingston………. 3.1%, down from 3.6% in July
Caldwell…………. 3.7%, down from 5.0% in July
Carroll…………… 3.8%, down from 4.3% in July
Daviess…………. 3.8%, down from 4.4% in July
Chariton…………. 4.0%, down from 4.6% in July
Grundy………….. 4.3%, down from 5.6% in July
Sullivan………….. 4.4%, down from 5.0% in July
Linn………………. 5.1%, down from 6.1% in July
The State of Missouri is at 3.9%, down from 4.6%.
The US unemployment figure is at 4.4%, down from 4.5%.
