Career Counselor Cindy Baker Honored In Retirement

The mainstay of the Chillicothe High School Guidance Department was the guest of honor at a retirement party this week.

Cindy Baker has taught for 45 years, spending the last 35 years as a high school counselor. Principal Dan Nagel handled the numbers, explaining in her years of service Baker grew local scholarships from $60,000 to $6 million; college and state monies from $1 million to $17 million, and that doesn’t count the renewable offers.

Baker, who has been working part-time, retires at the end of this school year. Counselors at the high school will be Buffy Tipton, Amanda Marsh and Monica Wolf.
