The 2026 Parade of Hearts kicked off on Saturday with a reveal of 6-foot “Hearts of Unity” sculptures. Chillicothe’s Silver Moon Plaza is one of the locations this year.
Amy Supple from The Chillicothe Visitor’s Bureau says this came about through the city’s economic development connections.
They were looking to expand and Chillicothe was being considered.
The Parade of Hearts began 2022 in the Kansas City area as an ambitious civic art project and has evolved into a regional movement that encourages exploration, tourism, and community pride while raising funds for nonprofit organizations through the eventual auction of each sculpture.
Chillicothe is hosting one of 150 Hearts this year that have been painted by regional artists. Nicole Lauran is the artist for “Growth In Stages.”
The website for the Parade of Hearts includes a map of the locations across the region.
