As the Chillicothe Police Department has taken over Animal Control. Chief Jon Maples says they have seen an increase in call volume for those services.
Maples says Animal Control Officer, Nicholas Leadbetter applied for and received a grant for a chip reader.
Leadbetter is not focused just on the enforcement of the city’s ordinances.
He is also creating fliers about the city animal ordinances and licensing of animals.
