Chillicothe Police Report Busy Weekend with Multiple Arrests

The Chillicothe Police Department had a busy weekend, responding to over 270 calls for service from Friday through Sunday.

On Friday, August 22nd, officers investigated a serious incident near McNally and Springhill after a man was reported pouring gasoline on a porch and threatening to ignite it with people inside. The suspect was quickly located, taken into custody, and transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center pending formal charges. Later that day, officers also handled a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 190 and Hornet Road, a leaving the scene accident on Graves Street, and assisted the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a driver for driving while suspended.

On Saturday, August 23rd, officers made an arrest for alleged driving while intoxicated on drugs following a traffic stop at Third and Washington. Earlier in the day, they also dealt with civil disputes, returned recovered property, and even removed a bat from a South Washington business.

The activity continued into Sunday, August 24th, when officers made several felony drug arrests. Around 1:30 a.m., a bicyclist was stopped at Jackson and Washington and arrested for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Later in the morning, a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Washington led to the arrest of a woman for alleged felony drug possession, paraphernalia, and driving while suspended. That afternoon, officers arrested two men in separate stops—one for an outstanding warrant and another for alleged driving while suspended.

Sunday evening saw officers respond to several family-related calls, including a custody dispute, a runaway juvenile, and a domestic violence case in which an adult male was taken into custody on a 24-hour hold. Officers also located an intoxicated juvenile attempting to drive, who was released to parents.

In total, Chillicothe Police responded to 144 calls Friday, 80 calls Saturday, and 54 calls on Sunday.
