The Chillicothe Rotary Club’s annual shoe collection exceeded expectations. The club set a goal of 1,025 pairs of shoes… and thanks to the Chillicothe community, the club surpassed the goal by collecting a total of 1,157 pairs of new shoes for children around the world in need!
The Rotary Shoe caravan came to Chillcothe this week to collect the shoes. Larry Lunsford is the Shoes Cheerleader for Rotary District 6040 and explains how important these shoes are.
It is a gift that allows them to go to school and have better health.
This year’s goal for the District 6040 “Shoes for Orphan Souls” campaign coincides with this being their 25th year.
A district-wide goal of 25,000 pairs.
The shoes will be delivered to their partner in Texas, Buckner, who will match the number of shoes collected.
