The Chillicothe Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 5:00 PM at the District Administrative Offices on Hornet Road. Prior to the regular meeting, there will be a brief annual tax rate hearing beginning at 4:45.

The regular session will open with the Pledge of Allegiance, the call to order, and approval of the agenda. Board President Brice Walker will welcome those in attendance, and building administrators will introduce new teachers to the Chillicothe R-II School District. The list includes teachers in business, first grade, family and consumer sciences, science, welding, and several in special education.

Public comment will also be heard as outlined in Board policy.

Items on the consent agenda include approval of minutes from the July meeting, the summer school program evaluation, the Board of Education self-assessment, and payment of bills.

New business will include a financial report from Superintendent Dan Wiebers, with revenues and reserves updates. The Board will also consider approval of the tax rate for the 2025-26 school year, re-adoption of the Conflict of Interest policy, bus routes, and a series of Board policy updates.

Additional items up for discussion include adjusting meeting dates in September and November, an update to dual credit instructor compensation, and administrative and committee reports from principals and directors.

The Board will also review correspondence from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, including special education compliance and AMI plan approval.

The evening is expected to conclude with an executive session for personnel, real estate, legal, and student matters.
