Colby Tanner Pleads Guilty – Sentenced to 15 Years

A Carrollton teen who had been charged in Carroll County Court in connection with a December 2024 shooting, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Lafayette County.  Colby Tanner faces fifteen years in prison after entering a guilty plea for Assault, Unlawful use of a weapon, and Harassment.

The case had been moved from Carroll County in March of 2025 on a change of venue request.

Judge Joshua Taylor sentenced Tanner to 7 years on the Assault, 4 years for Unlawful use of a weapon, and 4 years for Harassment.

The sentences are to be served consecutively.
