Five Injured In Three Crashes In Area Counties

Three accidents investigated by the Highway Patrol in the area counties left five people injured on Sunday.

At about 9:40 am in Livingston County, a 93-year-old woman from Hale was taken to Hedrick Medical Center following a crash on Route H at LIV 377, north of Hale.  State Troopers report the woman was westbound and ran off the north side of the road and struck an embankment.  First responders reported extremely dense fog conditions at the time of the crash.  The woman was wearing a safety belt.

At about 1:13 pm in Linn County, a two-vehicle crash left both drivers with minor injuries.  State Troopers report a 17-year-old girl from Laclede was northbound and failed to yield, when her car was struck by a westbound truck driven by a 57-year-old Luebbering man on US 36.  The man was treated at the scene.  The girl was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A single vehicle crash in Daviess County left the driver and passenger with moderate injuries.  The crash occurred at about 9:25 pm on Interstate 35 near Pattonsburg, when a 69-year-old Des Moines woman was southbound and ran off the west side of the road and went down an embankment before striking trees, and the car overturned.  The driver and her 68-year-old passenger from Des Moines were both taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment.  They were wearing safety belts.
