Former Carroll Co. Ambulance District Director Wanted For Alleged Stealing

The former Director of the Carroll County Ambulance District is wanted on a warrant for alleged Stealing – $25,000 or more.  The probable cause statement indicates that 52-year-old Mario John DeFelice, between June 1st, 2020 and March 31, 2021, used his position to defraud the Carroll County Ambulance District.

He is alleged to have claimed $35,150 in overtime pay he didn’t work, paid himself $15,000 in unauthorized retention, and paid himself $4,380 in holiday pay that he didn’t work.  He is also alleged to have claimed fraudulent mileage and used the organization’s credit card to pay shipping on personal items.

DeFelice was dismissed as administrator in 2021, which led to a whistleblower complaint and a review by the state auditor.

Bond for DeFelice has been set at $65,000. The courts show his last known address is in Olathe, Kansas.
