GRTS American Spirit Project Installation At LICOVA

The American Spirit Team at Grand River Technical School has created pedestals and Military Branch insignias for the front of the LICOVA building on Washington Street.  Denise Toole from Grand River Tech says the project began last school year with students in the Welding Class.

Mason Harknes, a senior at Tina and in the GRTS Building Trades program, says several students are working to prepare the bases for the pedestals.

The emblems to be placed in front of the LICOVA building represent the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

The project is part of three community service projects presented by the Skills USA team in the American Spirit Competition.  These took 1st place in the state and placed in the top 10 in the national competition.
