Grundy County Responds To Grass Fires

The Grundy County Rural Fire Department responded to two grass fires on Wednesday.

One fire was called in at about 12:11 pm near 190 NE and Route N.  The fire burned about 35 acres of CRP land and crews were on scene for about an hour and a half.  The likely cause was a truck driving through the field and getting stuck.

The second fire was at bout 12:14 pm at 6492 LIV 502.  The fire burned about 13 acres, and the fire crews returned to the scene as the fire rekindled.  The fire resulted from the owner burning construction materials, catching the field on fire.
