Halloween Safety

Halloween means excited kids who may not be paying attention in all the excitement. Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples has some reminders for parents when they take their children to residential neighborhoods.

Go to the door with the kids – check the candy.

Maples says it is also important to drive safely in residential neighborhoods on Halloween.

Drivers should use extra caution in the neighborhoods, especially young drivers.

Maples says attending Boo-Fest in downtown Chillicothe is the safest and best bet.

Parents, make sure the kids are dressed warm.  Adjust the costume if you can or they may need a jacket over the costume.  Temperatures will drop off around sunset.
