Hamilton Police Department Resigns

The Hamilton Police Department resigned effective at the end of the year.  Rebecca Boerkircher with the City of Hamilton says at about 3:00 pm Wednesday, the Chief and two other officers submitted their resignations.  Those resignations were accepted by the Hamilton City Council that evening.

Boerkicher says they are working to replace the chief and officers.  She says in the meantime they are on duty until the end of the year and if needed, after they leave, the City will call on the Sheriff for assistance.

There was one other officer for the Hamilton Police Department that had resigned earlier in the month and his last day is Sunday.
