Heat Advisory Issued For North Missouri

A Heat Advisory is issued beginning this afternoon (today) through 7:00 pm Saturday.  The National Weather Service says high temperatures and humidity will bring heat index values from 101 to 106 degrees today and Saturday.

Overnight temperatures are expected to remain in the mid and upper 70’s, bringing little relief.

Recommendations include:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
