Highway Patrol – Serious Injuries and Arrest

The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated two accidents in the area and made one arrest.

A motorcycle crash with a deer left the driver with serious injuries.  The crash occurred Friday at about 8:08 pm on 250th Street, 2 miles east of Jamison, when the 32-year-old rider from Jamesport was southbound when he struck a deer and ran off the west side of the road.  He was flown to Truman Medical Center for treatment.  He was not wearing a helmet.

 

A two-vehicle crash south of Chillicothe on US 65 left a Chula woman with minor injuries.  State Troopers in Livingston County report the crash occurred at about 6:12 pm, 2 miles south of Chillicothe, when a 28-year-old man was southbound and suddenly slowed for an animal in the roadway.  He was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old woman from Chula.  She was taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

 

A Milan man was arrested by State Troopers in Sullivan County early Saturday morning.  Thirty-one-year-old Lester D. Lopez-Ruiz was arrested at 12:04 am for alleged DWI, resisting arrest, and no valid license.  He was taken to the Sheriff’s office on a 24-hour hold.
