An early morning report of suspicious activity summoned Chillicothe Police to the 1300 block of Calhoun Saturday morning. Officers report the call came in at about 5:12 am.
Initial reports included surveillance footage of a person attempting to check the security of residential doors. Throughout the day, additional community members came forward with similar reports of suspicious behavior in the area. The police department says through collaborative efforts between law enforcement and vigilant citizens, officers were able to identify a suspect as a local juvenile.
While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings indicate no immediate threat to public safety. The case has been referred to the Livingston County Juvenile Office for review and consideration of appropriate charges.
