An ordinance placing a Lead Ban In Plumbing was approved by the Chillicothe City Council. CMU General Manager Matt Hopper presented the ordinance that was recommended by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and MPUA. Hopper says the ordinance has been adopted by a half dozen Missouri communities and can also be found on the DNR Website.
The ordinance essentially bans the use of lead materials in the water system, protecting the community from lead contamination.
