Liberty Man Charged In Sullivan County

A Liberty man faces multiple charges in Sullivan County.  Forty-six-year-old Jackie W. Chapman faces charges of  alleged aggravated fleeing a stop, failure to stop at a stop sign, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The charges are the result of a chase that began in Linn County on August 23rd and ended in Sullivan County at speeds near 100 miles per hour.  During the pursuit, while near Browning, officers believe Chapman threw a weapon out the window.  A handgun was later recovered at that location.

The pursuit was ended before the vehicle was stopped.  A warrant was issued for Chapman.  That warrant includes a $10,000 cash only bond.
