Linn County Ambulance Crash In Boone County Takes Life Of One Driver

A crash involving a Linn County ambulance on Wednesday evening took the life of the driver of the other vehicle involved.  Linn County Ambulance District confirmed that one of its ambulances was involved in the crash on Highway 63 near Sturgeon at approximately 5:40 PM.

State Troopers report the crash occurred as the ambulance was southbound and driven by a 56-year-old Brunswick man.  According to the report, the other driver, an 81-year-old man from Moberly, was eastbound on the shoulder of McComas Road and made an improper turn and was struck by the ambulance.

The Moberly man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ambulance driver had moderate injuries, an attendant, a 60-year-old Bevier man, had moderate injuries, and the occupant of the ambulance, an 85-year-old Marceline woman, had minor injuries.  All three were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
