Linn County Crash Leaves One Dead & One With Serious Injuries

A passenger died and the driver had serious injuries after running into the back of a semi Tuesday afternoon in Linn County.

 

A 49-year-old Holts Summit man died at the scene of the crash and the driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Ashland man, had serious injuries and was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.

 

State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 3:38 pm on US 36 near Bucklin, as the semi was parked on the shoulder when it was struck from behind by a pick-up.  The pick-up then overturned.

 

The driver of the semi, a 39-year-old man from Shelbina,  was not injured.
