Livingston County Health Center Adjusting To New Immunization Recommendations

Following announcements by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).  An update to the national childhood immunization schedule was released, which outlines recommended vaccines from birth through adolescence.

The Livingston County Health Center Administrator, Katie Stephens, says, “Our mission is simple, we exist to promote and protect the health of the entire community. We do that by serving with excellence, compassion, and professionalism—while making sure every person who walks through our doors feels safe, respected, and welcome.”

While changes to national guidance can create uncertainty for families, the Health Center says it is committed to addressing those concerns with accurate information and respectful conversation.

Key facts about the updated vaccine schedule include:

  • No patients are losing access to vaccines or services
  • All CDC-recommended childhood vaccines remain available
  • Parents can choose to keep their child on the previous vaccine schedule
  • Insurance coverage for vaccines has not changed

Families with questions about the updated immunization schedule are encouraged to contact the Livingston County Health Center at 660-646-5506 to speak with a healthcare professional.
