A report of an elderly man with dementia who had walked away from a vehicle that was stuck in a field was investigated by the Chariton County Sheriff’s Office Thursday. The call came in about 6:00 pm and the man had been missing for about 5 hours, with no form of communication.
Deputies deployed a thermal drone and the Brookfield Police brought their K-9. The department was also assisted by several residents from the area.
The man was located and is safe.
