Two crashes in the area counties left three injued on Wednesday. State Troopers responded to the crashes.
At 12:23 pm in Linn County, a single vehicle crash on Highway 5, just north of Purdin, when the driver of a truck went off the road and struck an embankment. The Driver, a 54-year-old man from Trenton, and the passenger, a 78-year-old man from Milan, were both taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. The driver was not wearing a safety belt and had moderate injuries. His passenger was using a seatbelt and had minor injuries.
In Mercer County at about 4:30 pm, a two vehicle crash occurred on US 65, 4 miles north of Spickard, when a 26-year-old man from Trenton was southbound and ran into the rear of a horse and buggy driven by a 31-year-old man from Spickard. The Spickard man was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with moderate injuries. The Trenton man was not injured.
A Gallatin woman was arrested by State Troopers in Daviess County on Wednesday evening. Fifty-six-year-old Julie N. Coffman was arrested for alleged hit and run – leaving the scene of a crash, and DWI. She was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
