Contractors with the Missouri Department of Transportation are scheduled to begin a sidewalk improvement project on Route E in Sumner on April 7. The project is to help ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and is funded in part through the Transportation Alternatives Program. This project will improve sidewalks in Bosworth, Hale, Keytesville, Mendon, Norborne, Rothville and Sumner.
Some lane closures will be necessary throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow all traffic control, flaggers, signs and barricades.
Listed below is the tentative schedule of work:
- Sumner (Route E): April 7-27
- Rothville (Route EE): April 20-May 18
- Mendon (Route CC): May 7-28
- Keytesville (Route K): May 20-29
- Norborne (Route D): May 25-June 29
- Bosworth (Route M): June 18-July 9
- Hale (Missouri Route 139): July 1-10.
Once the sidewalk replacements are complete, crews will install signs and pavement markings.
