Nearly $64 Million Secured For Roy Blunt Reservoir Construction

Nearly $63 million has been secured to complete the Roy Blunt Reservoir Dam and Spillway.  The North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission (NCMRWC) and the Natural Resources Conservation Commission (NRCS) recently signed a contract that secures the funding, which represents the balance of federal dollars needed to complete the dam and spillway.

Earlier funds were secured to start the project, but Brad Scott from the North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission said this funding was needed to guarantee enough funding to complete the project.

Scott explained they have already pre-qualified a number of Specialty and General Contractors to perform the work on the dam and spillway, but await approval of our construction methodology to move forward on the bidding and selection process.

Waiting on Rural Development for approval to proceed.

Once the construction begins, they expect about three years for construction and a couple of years for the lake to fill.
